Traffic Enforcement

Our Traffic team is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through education, visibility, and proactive enforcement. Our officers are often the first line of prevention, helping reduce crashes, promoting safe driving habits and protecting everyone who travels through Denton.

DWI Unit

The DWI Unit is committed to keeping roads safe by identifying and removing impaired drivers. Through proactive patrols, education, and collaboration with community partners, our officers work to prevent crashes, save lives, and uphold the safety of everyone who calls Denton home.

Downtown

The Downtown Unit serves at the heart of our city, the historic Denton Square. Our officers focus on community engagement, safety, visibility, building relationships with residents, visitors, and local businesses while keeping our downtown vibrant, welcoming and safe.

Investigations

Our Criminal Investigations Bureau works tirelessly to seek truth and justice for victims. Through detailed casework, collaboration, and compassion, our detectives uncover facts, solve crimes, and help bring closure to those affected, strengthening safety and trust across our community.

Our newly formed Crime Response Team is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing our department’s proactive approach to crime prevention and supporting Patrol Operations through targeted, data-informed enforcement. They integrate crime prevention, analysis, and response efforts to identify and address high-crime areas with precision.

Our Public Safety Communications team is the calm voice in the chaos that connects those in need with help when seconds matter most. Our dispatchers are highly trained professionals who coordinate emergency responses with precision and compassion, serving as the vital link between our community and first responders.

The Training team is committed to shaping the future of law enforcement through excellence in education and mentorship. Our instructors share their knowledge and experience with future peace officers while also offering a wide range of training opportunities for our law enforcement partners across the region, building skill, confidence and community.
